This is the main staff brainstorming thread while we begin to put together what will become Pokemon: Route Travelers.
I am still working out a few things including a character biography format but I do have ideas that I want to put out there.
Including:
All regions/locations open All canon Pokemon open (Legendary Pokemon withstanding)
Ideas I Cannot Figure Out How to Set Up:
How to represent all the regions on the forum Ensuring members aren't catching Pokemon too fast or unrealistically.
That is all I have now while I finish up other things.

As Spellca has said, we'll be doing our best to get this forum up and running to full operational capacity. As for me, I'll be helping with all I can, from helping finalize character bios so you all can start signing up to making up rules and guidelines for the forum.
Also, if you have any questions, I'd be willing to help address them in the best way possible that I can. For the moment, it's just a lot of talk right now, but I think we'll soon be able to start adding some things once we get through with them.
We'll do our best, I assure you that.

Well it is just us in this thread and for a while, only we will be able to read it.
There are a few things we can discuss. The main one being how exactly the role-play boards will be set up. First being the fact that there are 5 main regions, going on 6 by October. I am considering making them categories with boards. For an idea of what that looked like you can see the General Category and the General thread. I still need to think of how that would work overall. Perhaps, you could help me think of how to work that.
I made you a global moderator and you are now an important person, so any ideas or concerns that you have you can just say.

Oh, right. Hahahaha, sorry.
Ummm, well. That's true. There's another problem that'd come up, though. Say someone in Unova wanted to RP with someone in Kanto or Hoenn? .....Could we have a 'crossroads' thread, like how it looks up in the picture above, for that? Also, that's a good idea. I'll go take a look as quickly as I can.
Oh, I noticed. Thank you, though. Oh, right. Say that bottom thing there. What're the PokeDollars for and will they have any use later?

I want this role-play to feel as open and unrestricted as possible in regard to where you can go and when. Therefore, if you role-play going to another region or another location, you can go anywhere. The idea of this role-play is to be as open as the player wants it. They can travel freely and not necessarily be on a traditional Pokemon journey. If someone wants to get a startner in Unova, they could head directly to Kanto if you wanted to. A character born and raised in Hoenn can start their story on the site in Johto. So on and so forth. It all depends on the character.
I set up a code that would give each member 3 PokeDollars per post. This money will be used for an on-forum shop and for perks. I believe that the perks and certain special items will only be able to be purchased with money gained through posting - meaning activity produces rewards in the role-play. But other items such as PokeBalls, potions etc. that are common in game, will be available in the role-play itself rather than bought with these points.
That was a bit convoluted. The PokeDollars gained from posts will count towards perks/special items/prizes that I will set up as the site's admin for people to purchase and win. Other items that could be found in any PokeMart can be bought in-character in the role-play without the need to use the points just by stating that your character has a certain amount of money in character.

Ahhhh, okay. Thank you for clearing up those points for me. My questions are done, aside from what shall we work on first?

I am going to discuss the appearance of the site with a friend of mine and see what he can do. In the meantime, I will be making the Forum rules, Character creation rules and Pokemon rules. Those three sets of guidelines would be crucial to setting up the forum's foundation.
What you can do? Hmmm. If you want to make a Pokemon character sheet for those who want to role-play as a wild or solo Pokemon, you can. You can also try to stir up interest for this among Pokemon RPers that you may know. Any little bit helps.

Hmmm, I'll do my best, then. Any general things I should include?
Also, I'll be happy to advertise once we've gotten a bit more done~

Nothing really in terms of things you should include. Just put something together and then we can look it over.
Of course, we need to have something presentable before we begin to get members.

True, true. I'll do my best, then. It's fine if it's text-only, right?

Yeah. For now, yes. Just throw a format together and we can take a look at it.

Alright, alright. This is what I have so far:
Name: Species: Age(if acknowledged): Height: Weight: Nature: Ability: Personality(I. E. Likes to run): Level: Moveset: Shiny(yes or no): Extras(such as accessories or further quirks about the character):
How's this so far, and do you have anything you'd like to add?

Look's great. I would lump together shiny and extras and make that Appearance below Height and Weight. We may want to lump together Nature and Personality - simply call it Personality but explain that, if the person wants, they can state the Nature within. Example: Name: Pokemon's Nickname/Given Name if it possesses one. (e.g. Dux) Species: Exact kind of Pokemon it is. (e.g. Farfetch'd) Type: The type(s) that the Pokemon fall into (e.g. Normal/Flying) Age: Age of the Pokemon Height: Height of the Pokemon (e.g. 2'07") Weight: Weight of the Pokemon (e.g. 33.1 lbs) Appearance: How the Pokemon looks including Shiny, different coloration, accessories such as bows, scars or other characteristics. (e.g. Always carries an onion stalk) Personality: The personalty of the Pokemon including but not limited to its Nature. Ability: The ability the Pokemon possess (e.g Keen Eye) Level: The numeral level of your Pokemon (e.g 7) Move Set: Four moves the Pokemon currently knows; these can be edited over time. History: A short history of the Pokemon's past experiences. ~ ~ ~ That could work well. I am currently finishing up some of the main page things before starting on the region's.

Ahhh, forgot typing, thank you. I do like this format much better, and it's much easier to read than what I had pulled out of my head. I'm glad that you're helping me so much, my friend. Is this put somewhere, or not yet? By that, I mean for when someone wants to sign up. Oh, or it could wait until you finish the Trainer ones~

Not yet. I am almost done with the Trainer one. It is a bit longer since it needs to account for the person and their Party of Pokemon.
It should be done very soon.
