Roderick was now walking alongsides Professor Grant's veanasaur. Marveled by the pokémon the professor carried with him, he was busy taking in details of them and teecking through the route at the same time.
He then looked at the professor himself. He looked youthful, but wise at the same time. He could learn lot's from the professor in this travel, short as it may be.

Professor Grant noticed the boy's awe at his Pokemon. He smiled as Noctowl landed on his shoulder and Mightyena was coiled up at his side. Venusaur was accustomed too carrying his family on his shoulders and continued on happily up Route 201. Noctowl noticed the boy's look first and lightly pecked the Professor to get him to notice, "Ow..." Noctowl gestured its head at Roderick and the Professor turned to see him looking at him. "Ah. Thank you, Noctowl." He responded to the boy's gaze, "Anything you need?"
As he said this, Mightyena's ears perked up as a Growlithe yipped in the nearby buses. Starly scattered at the incoming thumps of the Venusaur's steps. Without hearing distance a Trainer called out orders to a Piplup but seemed unsuccessful in having the new Pokemon respond. The route was alive with life and activity - both wild and tame. Noctowl and Mightyena kept their gazes on the tall grass and woods along the route; acting as watchmen so that the duo couldn't be ambushed.

"I was wondering if you could tell me where have you been Im this World. I've oly readed about most places in tye lab and I'm still new to exploring".
Vyse's ears twitched as he heard a pokémon in a nearby Bush. Without warning, a starly jumped out of the Bush, ready to defend it's territory. Riolu quickly took a battle stance.
"I don't really want to fight you buddy" Said Roderick as calm as he could. In response, the starly jumped torwards Riolu who evaded the attack.
"I guess I have no choice. Riolu, use bullet punch"
Riolu's paws glowed slightly before unleashing a (relatively weak) barrage of punches at the starly. That was enough to convince the starly about retreating and reagrouping for later. Giving a small huff, the Bird flew away.

Watching the "battle", Grant nodded. "Watch out now. Starly are known to travel in flocks. That one might be out gathering its friends to come back for another round. But, its a Staraptor you might be more worried about. They can easily fly off with Pokemon larger than they are and your Riolu is within the size-range to be plucked up." He turned his head to Noctowl. "Noctowl, take to the air. If any Staraptor come by you either turn it back or send it in another direction, I don't want Yyse to be attacked by something looking to have him for lunch."
"'Towl", the Pokemon hooted as he took off into the air and began to circle over the route.
"Now, perhaps, Vyse should battle a Pokemon he has an advantage over. Normal-type Pokemon such as that Bidoof over by those bushes are weak against Fight-types such as your Riolu. It might not be a bad idea to get used to catching Pokemon by adding the Bidoof to your team. Also Bidoof are used to being around the water, their evolution Bibarel is part Water-type and could come in very handy down the line as your journey will bring you close to water many times."
Mightyena had fallen asleep again resting on Venusaur and Grant remain perched on his Starting Pokemon's back as they continued down the route.

Both trainer and pokémon sweatdropped and gulped at the mention of an staraptor. Riolu even imaginating himself in a sándwich with lettuce, an staraptor with a napkin ready to chow down.
Leaving the odd imagine spot behind Both trainer and pokémon nooded at the advice and began looking for a bidoof.
OOC: seems so tempting to have a moody Bibarel...

Venusaur moved beneath a tree and stopped. Mightyena jumped off and so did the Professor. The two quickly stretched and Noctowl continued his patrol of the air. Noticing the expressions of both Trainer and Pokemon, the Professor smirked. "Don't worry. Noctowl has taken on worse than a wild Staraptor."
Mightyena began to sniff around the tall grass and seem interested in something within. "If you both want, I can have Mightyena seek out a Bidoof and drive one into the open for you. All up to you, that is."

IC: "Yes, that sounds like a good idea" said Roderick. Vyse nodded, preparing himself for a battle.
OOC: Can I have a moody Bidoof?

((OOC: Yes, you can catch whatever you want. Also, do try to make your posts longer than just a quote. It makes them much easier to respond to when there is action rather than a simple sentence.))
"You heard him, Mightyena. Let's see if we can flush our a Bidoof." He stepped out of the shade and Mightyena dashed into the tall grass. "Mightyena, be careful! Just lead 'em out." The thumping of paws hitting the dirt was followed by the rustling of grass. "Alright...Huh?" The Professor saw Noctowl release an Extrasensory attack into the trees but a Staraptor flew out of the way and used Agility to get behind Noctowl. An Aerial Ace attack hit Noctowl and the Pokemon plummeted to the ground. "Noctowl!"
Mightyena jumped from the grass and caught Noctowl in her mouth before placing him in the Professor's arms. The Staraptor circled over the two. "That one is way too strong to have been out here all this time. It is either a trained Pokemon that was released or it has had its fair share of fights in the wild. Venusaur. Mightyena. Mightyena, guard the kid and Vyse. Venusaur, this is up to you now."
The Professor held Noctowl as the owl Pokemon began to move and look better. "Alright, bud. If you think you can keep up, you can watch but stay with me."
Venusaur moved out and aimed his bulb up at the circling Staraptor. "When he comes in for a strike, hit him with Solar Beam. Alright?" Venusaur called out in response to his orders.
The Professor looked as the Mightyena moved in-front of the Riolu and fixed her eyes on the flying Pokemon that moved overhead. The Professor spoke, "Speak of the devil...Sorry kid but the Bidoof will have to wait. If this Staraptor is this violent and strong, we cannot have it rampaging about so close to Professor Rowan's lab. New trainers and young Pokemon come up and down this route daily - we cannot risk them getting picked off by an aggressive Pokemon." Venusaur lowered his stance as he aimed.

OOC: And that's where my RP weak point comes in.
IC: Roderick could only see as the professor's pokémon fighted against the Staraptor, on his current position, there was little he could do, His only pokémon, Vyse, wouldn't stand a chance if he fought directly... there had to be a way to help out..
Looking around, Roderick spotted some rocks, this gave him an idea.
"Vyse, get behind Veanasaur" He said as he picked up the rock.
Vyse nodded and ran behind the large pokémon. Roderick joined him soon after.
"Okay, here is my plan, do you think you could chip away this rock and send the pieces flying with bullet punch?"
Vyse studied the rock for a second before looking at him with a look that coud only be translated as ( "You are crazy, but I'll guess I'll try").
"Very well" Said Roderick, he then looked at the Staraptor who was currently flying overhead.
"We'll need to find an opportunity"

((OOC: Not an issue, just remember that it isn't a race. If it takes you longer to come up with a paragraph or two, that is fine. It should always be quality over quantity but you want to have something that everyone in the thread can work with. The more material you add to the story with your post, the easier it is for someone else to post.))
Grant saw that the new trainer and his Pokemon had already hatched out a plan. Without a word, Mightyena moved to cover behind Roderick to ensure nothing attacked from behind. Noctowl stood on Grant's shoulder and shot an Extrasensory at the Staraptor. It missed but the point wasn't to hit it. The aggressive Pokemon swooped down. Knowing Venusaur only had one shot at this he spoke, "Good plan kid. Just be careful...time this carefully. Here he comes."
Staraptor flew down but it wasn't focused on Noctowl. It had its eyes on the smaller Riolu. Noticing this, he knew it was too close for Venusaur to line up a Solar Beam. "Kid, here is your chance." Mightyena turned behind him and prepared a Bite. If the Staraptor hit either of them, the Pokemon would snatch it and bring it to the ground.

"Very well, are you ready Vyse?"
The Riolu just nodded, taking aim with the rock. The Staraptor closed in, each second passing more slowly than the last...
When there were only a few meter separating both parties, Roderick yelled "Now!!!", just right after, Riolu's little arms glowed and became a blur as he punched the rock, chipping off small pieces of it and sending them flying in the birds direction. Some of the rocks did no damage at all, but most of them moved with the sufficient speed to hurt the bird, which, having it's wings wide open, took a lot of damage.
Nevertheless, the Staraptor didn't gave up. Wincing from the rock barrage, it still managed to come dangerously close. However, with it's newly damaged wings, it's speed had been greatly reduced. This gave Roderick and Vyse enough time to get out of the way before Mightyena grabbed one of the bird's talons and subsequently pinned it to the ground.

Mightyena caught the slowed Staraptor and pinned him to the ground. The Professor pulled from his pocket a small vial of blue powder. "Let him go, Mightyena. This will do the trick." As Mightyena released, Grant sprinkled the powder over the bird and it fell into a deep sleep. "A Butterfree's Sleep Powder always comes in handy."
The Professor took a Pokeball from his pocket, enlarged it and handed it to the Trainer. "Here. Take this and catch the Staraptor. It is obvious that he used to have a trainer and was abandoned, he doesn't deserve to be out in the wild. I would take him in but..." Noctowl stared down at the bird menacingly. "...Noctowl wouldn't approve. I think you could give him a good home, especially considering how early you are on your journey - it could give you some experience breaking in a Pokemon like this. What do you say?"
The Venusaur turned around. He was a tad upset he didn't get to use Solar Beam. The Professor picked a berry from a bush and gave it to him. "Cheer up, Venusaur. You'll get a chance to battle someone soon enough."

Roderick looked at the now unconscious staraptor. Right now, it seemed harmless, but leaving it unattended would be troublesome.
Taking out a pokéball, Roderick stepped forward. Quietly, he pressed the gadget on the firds front, the staraptor was quickly absorbed into the pokéball which started to shake, but otherwise didn't offer any other signs of resistance.
After a few silent seconds, the pokéball stopped shaking and a click noise could be heard. It indicated the pokéballs succesfull catch. Tentatively, Roderick sent out his newly catched staraptor, the Bird was still hurt in the wings, and was still asleep.
" mmm... I'll let you sleep for now, I think I'll call you Storm"
With that, he returned the newly named Storm to his pokéball and sniling said to the professor.
"Thank you for offering me that chance to catch it, but we should get moving before the starly come. Lake verity is actually very close from here".

((OOC: Sorry about yesterday))
"Lead the way, then." The Professor recalled Noctowl so that he could rest before jumping up on the back of Venusaur again.
The Professor road down the path and observed many Pokemon as they moved up the route towards the lake. When they reached the lake, Professor Grant reached into his coat and pulled out a Pokeball before pointing it towards the lake. "Alright, Lapras. You deserve some exercise."
The Pokeball cracked open and Lapras began to enjoy itself out on the far side of the lake. The Professor walked over to the shade of a tree and laid down. Venusaur and Mightyena sat at the lake side watching Lapras have fun.

As he watched Professor's grants pokémon play, +Roderick approached the edge of the lake and got the incubator out.Opening the lid, He could see tat the egg looked a little bit darker than before.
"Here" was the only thing he said as he poured thewater inside. To his relief, the egg sensed the change in environment and vibrated a little bit. Besides Roderick, Vyse smiled at this, partly because of the reaction and partly because he could notice the pokémon's aura changing for the better. In the distance, Storm watched indifferently, still unaccustomed to his new trainer.
***
Far below the surface of the lake, something moved, it sensed something foreign in the surface of the lake... intruders most likely... enraged, the pokémon approached the surface at great speed...
***
Riolu suddenly looked towards the lake and concentrated in the aura in there, suddenly jolting, Vyse rapidly tugged at his trainer's sleeve.
Roderick recognized what his Riolu was trying to say instantly. Getting up, and closing the lid of the incubator he said.
"Professor, I think it's best we lea..."
Before he could finish, a huge splash was heard, scattering watter everywhere, starlys flew away and the local bidoof retreated to the safety of their dams. Slowly, Roderick turned around only to face a big, menacing and angry gyarados.
OOC:
Boss Battle!!!
It's a new Idea I have, I'll explain it in more detail later.
