Rory felt a slight well walking onto the dark green Route 121. It was probably because of the seawater that turned it such a deep green. He looked around, as he walked. The trainers were looking through the grass to find Pokémon, while a pair of female students observed the distant Pyre Mountain, Hoenn's Pokémon Gravesite. He continued walking until he reached an entrance to a small hovel of a building that was painted to look as if it had grass creeping up the sides. There was a PokéBall above the door with a camouflaged colour scheme.
"Hoenn Safari Zone" read the title.
He pondered about entering it for just a moment. Would he need to capture any more Pokémon? Whom else would he need on his team?
He looked to his team, who was on his bag strap. Solan, Rithan, and Gallan. Who else would he need? Who else can help him?
He decided to go ahead and see what the Safari Zone had in it. He walked into the sliding glass doors.
After paying the admission fee, wasting sixteen Safari Balls on a Doduo, and watching a shiny Girafarig flee, and be captured by another trainer, whom wore a ball cap, he made his way to what was designated as 'Area 2'. Here, he crouched in the grass, using his stealth skills to blend in, and make no noise.
He looked precariously about for a moment, wondering if there would be anything to come. He would at least have hoped to find a Pikachu. But, no such luck. He stood up, and left the area. He was about to head out, but... then he spied an area he had not seen prior. It was labeled 'To Area 5/6'. He took a short jog to it.
It looked similar to the other areas, but the air smelt... different. It smelled like... Johto. The soil was Johto soil. He walked into the grass to find out what Pokémon would prompt this change in air.
"Nyoo Nyoo!" came a battle cry, as a Hoot-Hoot flew out of the tree near him! Rory, quick with hos reflexes, immediately hurled the Safari Ball at the avian. With a few rolls... No! The Pokémon broke free! The shattered Safari Ball scattered everywhere. The Hoot-Hoot lept up, and began cooing angrily. It was fuming mad!
"Hey, now, it's alright!" Rory said, a bit awkwardly. "Well, alright, that was a rather rash introduction. I'm Rory. Would you like a treat?" He took out a Pokéblock from a pouch of them in his bag (They were store bought, and thus had no case), and handed the bird one. A light blue one, presumably of a Durin Berry. He held it out.
The Wild Hoot-Hoot sniffed at it precariously before taking it. It began to nibble at it. When it was finished with it, the Hoot-hoot had settled down.
Rory held out a Safari Ball. "May I have the honour of bringing you with my on my journey?"
The Hoot-Hoot nodded, by shifting it's body. It pecked to button on the device and vanished into it in a flash of light.
Rory stood up, and minimized the sphere, and attached it to his bag strap. "Welcome to the team... Noctan." Rory said, naming him after his final evolutionary stage.
With his new partner in hand, Rory exited the Safari zone, handing the folks at the counter his remaining Safari Balls, and walking back outside to continue his Hoenn journey...
